Welcome Gamers

It's 2018, and cellphones have been a major part of our lives for over a decade now. One thing that most of us love using our phones for is gaming. It all started with the legendary Nokia 3310, and built-into the phone were two of the most iconic games of all time:  Snake Xenzia and Space Impact. We have all spent hours trying to get a high-score in Snake Xenzia and beat each and every boss in Space Impact. All of us still feel nostalgic after just looking at those games.

As the years passed, we kept upgrading our phones; with the era of slider phones, flip phones, and the qwerty-keypad phones and eventually the golden age of touch-screen phones. Gradually, the games we played also evolved with the phones. We had a jovial time while exploring all the levels in Bounce or the immensely popular cricket game in Samsung phones, we have seen it all.

Then came the era of smartphones, and it revolutionized gaming. Almost everyone around you owns a smartphone, be it an iPhone, any of the thousands of Android phones or (sadly) a Windows phone. All of a sudden, it was not up to the mobile manufacturers to decide the games that you can play on your devices. Independent developers across the globe came into the picture and gave us so many hit titles, like the insanely addictive Angry Birds and Candy Crush games. We may hate it now, but there was a time when we spent hours engrossed in the games.
What really revolutionized mobile gaming is multiplayer gaming. Online strategy-based games like Clash of Clans, offline multiplayer games like Mini Militia were instant hits among users and often saw people participating in local as well as global competitions.
Currently, the mobile gaming industry is booming with a large variety of sections of games available for players across both the major platforms, iOS as well as Android. Online multiplayer gaming has become huge, with Tencent launching a mobile version of PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds. Also known as PUBG Mobile, this game has wreaked havoc over the smartphone gaming market with extremely competitive players from across the world.
The biggest advantages that mobile gaming has over PC or Console gaming are:
  1. Larger user base: Almost everyone around us owns a mobile device, which means a huge number of potential users for the game.
  2. Portability: Mobile devices are portable and can be carried around anywhere. Certain games that are offline can also be played without internet connectivity.
  3. Affordability: About 90% of the games available in the iOS Store and the App Store are free to play. Even the paid ones are really cheap, and that further increases the user base.
  4. Compatibility: A mobile gamer on an iOS device can easily play multiplayer with a gamer on an Android device. How many PlayStation and Xbox players could say that?
  5. AR and VR Integration: This is a relatively newer technology that both Google, as well as Apple, are implementing to help developers design games.
Overall, the mobile gaming industry is currently a multi-billion dollar industry. Most of the major game developers are keen to cash-in on this and are launching mobile variants of their popular video games, like Need For Speed, the GTA Series and most recently, PUBG Mobile and Fortnite.
This blog will primarily focus on the latest updates in the mobile gaming industry: top games, updates, gaming-specific devices and much more. It will emphasize PUBG Mobile, which includes understanding the gameplay, some tips and tricks, major loot spots, strategies and everything else that you need to know.
